HANOVER, Germany—Extrusion machinery supplier KraussMaffei Berstorff is relocating its headquarters to Laatzen/Rethen Ost business park, in the southern section of Hanover, where it is building a smart factory equipped with some of the latest technology.
Construction on the 590,000-sq.-ft. production hall and office complex will start later this year and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2022, the company said in a June 24 statement.
"With this new building project, we have created the basis for further growth," Matthias Sieverding, president of the Extrusion Technology segment in the KraussMaffei Group, said in a statement. "More than ever, we are committing ourselves to innovation and quality."
The innovation is realized through production that continuously is networked, and through the compilation of data that is being produced and visualized in real time, according to Sieverding. These technologies, which achieve Industry 4.0 standards, also help to support efficiency that reduces throughput times for the manufacturing of extrusion components.
The location, which will house about 750 employees, will feature more than 20 machines, including small laboratory systems as well as a large-size production machine.
Among others, KraussMaffei Berstorff supplies high-performance extruders and extruder systems for rubber products, including profile production lines, tire systems as well as tube production lines.
