SHANGHAI—Jiangsu General Technology Co. unveiled a $210 million (Yuan 1.5 billion) investment plan to expand its recently opened tire factory in Cambodia.
The 18-month project will add capacity for 3.5 million units of semi-steel radial passenger car tires and 750,000 all-steel truck bus tires per year at the plant, inaugurated in April last year.
Once completed, the site in Sihanoukville Port Special Economic Zone will have total capacity to produce 8.5 million units of PCR tires and 1.6 million units of TBR tires per year, General Science said.
According to its Dec. 28, 2023, stock exchange filing, the project is expected to bring in an average annual operating income of about $240,000, and annual net profit of $32 million.
