Freudenberg Medical adds silicone tubing capacity

BEVERLY, Mass.—To meet growing demand in medical and pharmaceutical applications, Freudenberg Medical L.L.C. will increase capacity of its platinum-catalyzed silicone tubing.

Freudenberg Medical, a segment of Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies Inc., is a designer and manufacturer of products for the medical market with facilities on the West and East coasts and in the Midwest.

The company plans to increase its custom silicone extrusion and tube processing on its clean room production line. Tube production started in January and additional capacity is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2023.

Freudenberg Medical will concentrate on platinum-catalyzed, addition-cured silicones at the Beverly unit. The company also incorporates multi-lumen, complex single-lumen and micro extrusions as processes.

The Beverly location uses equipment that is identical to other, global Freudenberg Medical locations, standardized lines that allow for consistency and reduced supply line problems.

Freudenberg Medical is at Booth 2209 at MD&M West, taking place Feb. 7-9 in Anaheim, Calif.

Freudenberg Medical has 11 manufacturing operations worldwide, and offers catheters, hypotubes, needles, balloons and coating solutions.
