Flexicon opens new Indonesia office

SINGAPORE—Flexicon Singapore Pte Ltd. has opened a new Jakarta, Indonesia, office to serve the Southeast Asia market.

The new office, which comes after the company's accelerated growth in the region, will provide factory-direct sales and engineering services, Greg Slack, vice president of global sales, said in a Flexicon Corp. news release.

The Jakarta staff will have full access to Flexicon's engineering resources, he said.

Flexicon, headquartered in Bethlehem, Pa., established its Flexicon Corp. (Australia) Pty. Ltd. to support the region, in which it had been marketing since 1974. In 2008, it tripled the size of its Wacol, Australia, facility, and added a factory direct office in Singapore in 2014, Flexicon Singapore Pte Ltd.

Irwan Gunawan, regional sales manager, will head the new location, according to the company. He has served in various technical engineering positions since 2010 in the food packaging, automation and petrochemical industries. Gunawan will look to build relationships with plant managers and engineers in facilities handling bulk solid materials in the food, pharmaceutical, mineral and general chemical industries.

Flexicon manufactures products including flexible screw conveyors, tubular cable conveyors and pneumatic conveying systems. It has facilities in the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa, and maintains factory-direct sales offices in Spain, Germany, France, Chile, Singapore and Indonesia.
