GARDENA, Calif.—Silicone hose manufacturer Flex Technologies Inc. is expanding with a new facility at the company's Los Angeles County campus.

The facility will be used to hand-fabricate and extrude silicone hose products.

"We wanted to expand to make sure we can not only fulfill the requirements of our existing and growing clientele, but also to handle the growth we expect with new OEMs that have been coming to us for help due to supply chain issues that have affected them in the last few years," said Flex Technologies CEO Tim Coory.

Flex Technologies typically supplies its products to American companies in the automotive and pharmaceutical markets.

The second facility in Gardena effectively doubles the company's size. Flex Technologies also maintains an overseas presence, the company stated.

"Beyond that, we have plans to expand our production facilities throughout North America in the next 12 to 18 months," Coory said. "This will allow us to continue to support the largest volume OEMs in the world and stay extremely competitive in the price points we offer."

Coory added that many companies who supply silicone hose products around the world have been unable to meet customer needs due to the high worldwide silicone demand and resulting shortage.

"We must be in a position to pick up the pieces and keep those companies moving forward," he said. "We have an obligation to be a part of the growth of this country and show our clients that we are not just a supplier but a partner in the success of our economy."

Flex Technologies was founded in early 2003 and serves the biotechnology, manufacturing, refrigeration, aerospace, consumer, food and marine industries, in addition to the automotive and pharmaceutical spaces.
