ROSEVILLE, Mich.—Engine product and drive systems manufacturer, Dayco Products L.L.C., has added a new viscous damper production line at its site in Manesar, India.
The facility will supply commercial vehicles, off-highway and light-duty OEMs around the world, according to a Dec. 17 company statement.
Equipped with industry 4.0 and next-gen technologies, the line can manufacture viscous dampers with advanced laser welding systems, the company said.
The set-up, it stated, is designed to technologically support "heavy-duty OEMs in reductions in vehicle engine NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) and vehicle downtime."
Dayco claims to be a leader in the supply of "dampers from rubber to viscous with the best selection of material and advanced technologies."
Output from the new unit is intended to help Indian and global OEMs respond to the industry's drive to reduce CO2 emissions, said Dayco.
"Our viscous dampers offer higher efficiency and reliability for a wide range of engine applications up to 20 liters," said Wouter Nijenhuis, executive vice president of OE sales and business development.
Dayco is a global supplier of engine drive systems for automotive, truck, construction, agriculture and industrial applications. It also claims to be the leading global system solutions provider for hybrid electric vehicles. The company has more than 40 locations in 22 countries.
