Toronto-based Canadian Feed Screws Mfg. Ltd. is expanding with a 30,000-sq.-ft. addition to increase production capacity and support growth as it marks 50 years in business serving the plastics and rubber industries.
Founded in 1975, Canadian Feed Screws produces custom feed screw, barrel products and associated components for plasticizing for injection and extrusion machinery builders.
The company says it is Canada's only manufacturer of bimetallic barrels.
Making plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary in 2025 marks a significant achievement for Canadian Feed Screws, according to President John Vasilev.
"We're incredibly proud of how far we've come and grateful for the support of our dedicated team and loyal customers. As we celebrate this milestone, we're also preparing for the future with this expansion, which will allow us to continue meeting the needs of our growing customer base," Vasilev said in a news release.
The 30,000-square-foot expansion, which is scheduled to begin in late 2025, will increase production space, improve operational efficiency and incorporate cutting-edge technology. The expansion will also create new jobs, but no number was given.
Company founder Chris Vasilev called the expansion plan a major step forward for Canadian Feed Screws.
"It will allow us to enhance our capabilities, shorten lead times, and continue to offer the high-quality products that our customers expect from us," he said. "We are excited about the future and the opportunities this will create for our company and community."
