LONDON—Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd. is investing $74.8 million in its passenger car tire facility in Pune in response to increasing market demand.
The project is focused on increasing capacity and upgrading technology at the site in western India, Bridgestone told European Rubber Journal in a statement Feb. 10.
The expansion plan, Bridgestone said, was finalized in 2022 and will be carried out over the next three years to 2026.
When completed, the investment is expected to raise production capacity at the plant by 10-12 percent, according to the company.
According to Rubber News' Global Tire Report, the Pune plant has been operational since 2013 and has the capacity to produce 10,700 units of tires per day.
