MUMBAI, India—Arlanxeo has expanded its presence in India with the launch of its Indian subsidiary, Arlanxeo India Private Ltd., on Jan. 1.
The company also is set to open a new office space in Mumbai by May 2021, the Dutch-based rubber maker said in an April 6 statement.
Arlanxeo said the developments marked "significant milestones" in its growth strategy, helping it enhance presence in "one of the most important strategic growth regions."
"We are excited to embark on this next phase of our growth plans in Asia—our dedication to being a part of India's progress as a rapidly expanding global growth market remains strong," said Christian Widdershoven, chief commercial officer.
With the strengthened foothold, he said Arlanxeo expects to 'build on' the services and products that it can offer to its customers in the region."
Arlaxeo was already operating in the Indian sub-continent prior to the official launch of its Indian subsidiary and said existing sales and technical support teams will be maintained in the transition.
With the new legal entity, the company said it aimed to broaden its capabilities to meet the needs of "quickly expanding industries" such as automotive, tires, pharmaceutical and end-user products."
The subsidiary will act as a base to better connect with customers in other countries in the region, including specific markets such as Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh.
"With this move, we are operating as a full legal entity in India. We will continue to deliver on the strong sales and technical support that our customers have come to expect," said Rupesh Shah, director and head of India sub-continent for Arlanxeo.
