CHANGZHOU, China—Arlanxeo is stepping up its hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber production, marking the vision for growth with a groundbreaking ceremony in Changzhou.
The new facility, located next to the company's EPDM plant in Changzhou, is set to come online in the third quarter of 2025 and will manufacture Therban-branded HNBR. With the first phase of construction, the plant will have an annual capacity of 2,500 metric tons.
The facility's nameplate annual production capacity is expected to be 5,000 tons.
"Arlanxeo's new Therban plant will serve our valued customers in China and globally," company CEO Stephan van Santbrink said in a statement. "The demand for advanced synthetic rubber products continues to grow, and we are committed to supporting our customers with a reliable supply of Therban."
Arlanxeo said its Therban is "renowned for its resilience to extreme temperatures, chemicals and abrasion, and is widely used in demanding applications in automotive systems, oil exploration, mechanical engineering, aerospace, and batteries for new mobility solutions."
