"As a result, A.L.P. will have six presses capable of molding liquid silicone rubber in Charlevoix," the company said, adding that it has plans to expand the technology to its Monterrey, Mexico, facility in fiscal year 2023.
"Sur-Seal, in turn, will turn their focus to the core business of producing silicone gaskets," A.L.P. added.
A.L.P. boasts "advanced production features" in its tie-barless molding machines, including built-in conveyor, ERC robot, Electro Servo injection and coining technology. The company can mold silicone parts up to 200 square inches.
A.L.P. services OEMs and the aftermarket with its line of products, including LED fixture kits, vapor-proof enclosures, unwired fixture bodies, louvers and reflectors. Brands of A.L.P. include Steel Craft, LexaLite and Reflek.
Sur-Seal, a custom sealing solutions company based in Cincinnati, is making its own expansions as the company puts its focus on silicone gaskets.
In addition to appointing new CEO Dana Waterman, the company recently acquired a Charlotte, N.C.-based gasket manufacturer Mueller Custom Cut, according to a March 17 update, expanding its focus on gaskets and reach into the southeastern region of the U.S.
