ANCHORAGE, Alaska—ARG Industrial, formerly known as Alaska Rubber Group, has expanded into a new state with the opening of its 13th location, this one in Hayden, Idaho.
ARG is an employee-owned company that specializes in the distribution of hose, fittings and rigging products. Its other 12 locations include five in Alaska, six in Washington and one in Oregon.
The company said in a news release that the new location shows that ARG continues to invest in growth as it serves customers throughout a variety of industries in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
"Our new location in Hayden comes at a great time. The area is experiencing rapid growth north of Coeur d'Alene along the Highway 95 corridor," said Mike Mortensen, ARG Industrial president and CEO. "This branch is strategically positioned to meet the region's increasing demands for the products and services we provide. This also represents an extension of our business model, putting us closer to where our customers need us most."
The distributor didn't provide investment cost of the new site or projected employment. It had employed about 170 at the prior 12 branches, according to information on its website.
ARG Industrial was founded in 1980 as Alaska Rubber & Rigging Supply Inc. It became a 100-percent ESOP firm in 2006, and then jump started its growth with the purchase of five companies in Washington in 2013. It bought another firm in Alaska in 2020 and one in Oregon the same year, with its latest acquisition in Washington in 2022.
