FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany—The Zeppelin Group Supervisory Board on Nov. 19 appointed Markus Voege as managing director of Zeppelin Systems GmbH. In addition, Voege will serve as head of the Plant Engineering strategic business unit, which Zeppelin said "will bundle the Group's worldwide business with the construction of systems for the handling of high-quality bulk materials."
Voege will step into his new role Feb. 1, succeeding Alexander Wassermann, who left Zeppelin in October. Rochus Hofmann has been leading Zeppelin Group on an interim basis.
"I am looking forward to my new role and am delighted that I will be able to help shape and develop the Plant Engineering division of the Zeppelin Group in both the national and international markets," Voege said in a statement.
Voege comes to Zeppelin with managerial experience he cultivated at Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services A.G. and Homag Group A.G., where he most recently served as executive vice president of global sales and marketing. He began his career with various management consultancy firms.
"I am delighted that with Dr. Markus Voege we have succeeded in gaining an internationally experienced engineer and manager who can understand and manage the complex business of plant engineering from the planning stage right through to project implementation," Peter Gerstmann, chairman of the Zeppelin Group Management Board, said in a statement. "Zeppelin is looking forward to working with (him.)"
