MUNICH—Markus Richter will take over as director of corporate communications at Wacker Chemie A.G., succeeding Jorg Hettman, who is expected to retire March 1.
Richter comes to Wacker from automotive supplier Hella, where he served as head of corporate communications and investor relations.
Hettman will continue to advise Richter for the next several months, Wacker said.
"Over the past 15 years, Jorg Hettmann has been instrumental in shaping the communications side of key strategic decisions and many major projects at group level," Wacker CEO Christian Hartel said in a statement.
Examples of Hettman's influence include the firm's alignment of corporate communications with the requirements of the capital market following Wacker's IPO in 2006 and Siltronic's successful IPO in 2015.
