WASHINGTON—The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) has elected three new members to its board of directors, tapping Bridgestone Americas' Scott Damon and Goodyear's Brad Heim and Ryan Waldron for the new positions.
The new directors hold senior positions at Goodyear and Bridgestone Americas Inc., two of USTMA's 11 member companies, the association said. Anne Forristall Luke, USTMA president and CEO, expressed excitement at the appointment of the new directors.
"Their expertise and innovative perspectives will play a pivotal role in accelerating USTMA's critical mission," Luke said, "of advancing innovation, safety and sustainability within the tire industry, strengthening the association's positioning to seize new opportunities, address emerging challenges and continue shaping a resilient forward-looking industry."
Damon currently serves as CEO of Bridgestone West (Americas and EMEA) and group president of Bridgestone Americas. Originally a development engineer for Bandag in Muscatine, Iowa, Damon has been with Bridgestone since 1996, holding several senior positions within the company. A mechanical engineer by trade, he holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Frostburg State University.
Currently vice president, product development Americas for Goodyear, Heim "has held various leadership roles across product development, manufacturing and quality," the association said. Prior to taking on a product development role, he served as vice president of global quality in the Goodyear Global Operations and Technology organization. Also a mechanical engineer, he earned a bachelor's degree from Case Western Reserve University and a master's degree in the field from the University of Akron.
Waldron is currently the president of Goodyear's Americas division, where he oversees approximately 30,000 employees in total. He also manages over 700 retail and commercial truck centers and 28 manufacturing facilities across seven core countries. Waldron joined the company in 2003 and has also served as president of the company's North America Consumer business. He holds an MBA from the Ohio State University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Miami University.
