WASHINGTON—A change of command is underway at the Tire Recycling Foundation, as the nation's premier tire sustainability group introduces 15 new board members for 2025.
The TRF is led by the Tire Industry Association and the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association.
"Our newly appointed Board of Directors brings a wealth of experience and leadership in the tire recycling and manufacturing sectors, uniquely positioning the foundation to achieve critical milestones in the tire recycling and reclamation markets," said Anne Forristall Luke, incoming TRF Board president and president and CEO of USTMA. "Although we have made significant progress, with almost 80 percent of end-of-life tires currently consumed by end-use markets, we are committed to achieving 100-percent circularity."
The 15 new directors bring expertise and industry leadership to the board, and will be charged with steering the TRF as the group continues to drive innovation in end-use markets.
"The tire industry is at a pivotal moment, with tremendous opportunities to improve the circularity of tire products and reduce their environmental footprint," Dick Gust, incoming board member and TIA CEO, said in a statement. "I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members and industry stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of innovative solutions and ensure that the tire recycling supply chain continues to evolve for the benefit of both industry and the planet."
The advocacy group also secures funding for tire circularity projects—such as rubber-modified asphalt outlets for ground rubber—and allocates grants for research and education.
