CAMBRIDGE, Ontario—The Tire and Rubber Association of Canada has drafted Maureen Kline, vice president public affairs and sustainability with Pirelli Tire North America, to fill its board chair following the unexpected resignation of Tony Mougios of Michelin North America (Canada) Inc.
Kline, who was TRAC chair from 2016-18, will serve as chair until June 2022, when Paul Downey, CEO of Pliteq Inc. and 1st vice chair of TRAC, is scheduled to take that role.
TRAC did not elaborate on the reasons for Mougios' resignation. He is commercial director for consumer products with Michelin Canada.
Antoine Sautenet, public affairs manager, international trade and sustainable mobility, and government affairs director for Michelin Canada, was elected to complete Mougios' unexpired term on the board of directors.
He also becomes second vice chair while Matt Livigni of Continental Tire Canada Inc. remains treasurer.
TRAC President and CEO Carol Hochu thanked Mougios for his service.
"Tony has served with distinction as TRAC board chair including leading the board in the search for TRAC's new president and CEO in the light of Glenn Maidment's retirement," Hochu said.
"The board of directors would like to welcome Antoine and looks forward to his support in advancing TRAC's vision and strategic objectives," she said.
Other TRAC board members include: Neil Bansal, Western Rubber Group; Chris Bitsakakis, AirBoss of America Corp.; Paul Christou, Goodyear Canada Inc.; Keshav Das, BKT Tires (Canada) Inc.; Darious Naylor, Bridgestone Canada Inc.; and Robert Rist, Cabot Canada Ltd.
