GRIMSBY, Ontario—With the new year comes new leadership at Cimcorp North America, as long-time employee Tero Peltomaki has been appointed chief executive officer.
Peltomaki, currently executive vice president of operations and technology, will take the reins Feb. 1 from Masatoshi Wakabayashi at the manufacturer of turnkey robotic order fulfillment and tire-handling solutions. Wakabayashi led the company in the position for six years and will continue as a Cimcorp Board member and general adviser.
"Tero has extensive experience from his years with Cimcorp," Wakabayashi said. "And he is a highly regarded and well-known professional among our customers, stakeholders and all Cimcorpers around the world."
Peltomaki has worked for Cimcorp since 1983, starting as a mechanical engineer, then transitioning to sales and business development until landing in his current role.
Wakabayashi began his tenure as CEO in 2015 after Murata Machinery Ltd. (Muratec) acquired Cimcorp. Under his watch, Cimcorp said it grew in terms of revenue as well as personnel.
"One of my core tasks is to lead our company to the next level, together with all our employees and in collaboration with our owner," Peltomaki said. "Together we can create a formidable, mutual base for growth and development.
"As a long-time Cimcorper, I would also like to thank Masatoshi Wakabayashi for his tremendous work for Cimcorp, and I'm grateful that he will continue to contribute to our company and our community."
