SHROPSHIRE, England—United Kingdom consulting and testing company Smithers has appointed Natalie Jordan as director of materials testing operations, as part of a bid to expand its polymer services.
Jordan, who took over the position in July, is responsible for developing materials testing services to support clients across a range of industries including transportation, energy and industrial components, Smithers said in a statement.
Based at Smithers' Shropshire laboratories, she will lead the analytical chemistry and physical materials testing teams specializing in testing plastics and rubber.
Jordan has more than 15 years of technology and management experience in the advanced composites industry with a particular focus on the aerospace, automotive and oil and gas sectors.
She has a bachelor's degree in applied physics from Liverpool John Moores University and a Ph.D in polymer physics from Reading University.
Smithers' support for rubber and plastics materials includes:
- Physical materials testing;
- Chemical analysis of polymers;
- Product testing;
- Life prediction and aging; and
- Polymer technical consultancy.
