Mariniello takes gavel to lead ACS Rubber Division in 2023

AKRON—The ACS Rubber Division has completed its ceremonial "passing of the gavel," to begin the term of Anthony Mariniello as chair of the Akron-based technical association.

Mariniello is a technical sales manager with ChemSpec Ltd. As chair, he heads the organization's 2023 Board of Directors and will preside over the International Elastomer Conference in Cleveland next October.

The new person to join the Rubber Division's five-year progression to become chair is Erick Sharp, president and CEO of Ravenna, Ohio-based Ace Laboratories Inc. Sharp was elected secretary during the division's recent IEC in Knoxville, Tenn. He would then be line to serve as chair in 2027.

Besides Sharp, those following Mariniello in the officer progression and the posts they will hold in 2023 are: Chair-elect, Krista Toutant, R.D. Abbott Co. Inc.; Treasurer, Ron Campbell, Greene Tweed; and Assistant Treasurer, Russ Vogelsong, Lion Elastomers.

Besides those five, the 2023 Board of Directors will include:

• Director of Bylaws & Procedures, Terry DeLapa, retired from Alpha Technologies;
• Directors' Representative, Irene Yurovskaya, YIGlobal;
• Directors' Representative-elect, Richard Pazur, National Defence, Government of Canada;
• Councilor, John M. Long, JMLong Rubber Consultants L.L.C.;
• Alternate Councilor, Jeffrey (Chenchy) Lin, Goodyear;
• Member-at-Large, Leonard Thomas, consultant;
• Past Chair, Kim Dempsey-Miller, KimLink L.L.C.; and
• Rubber Division Executive Director & CEO, Lakisha Barclay.

Committee chairs for 2023 will be:
