MEDINA, Ohio—Specialty coatings and sealants company RPM International Inc. has promoted two executives to vice president positions.
The company announced that Michael J. Laroche, chief financial officer for the Specialty Products Group operating segment, has been appointed vice president, controller and chief accounting officer for RPM, effective Nov. 1. He will succeed Keith Smiley, RPM's current vice president of finance and controller, who previously announced he will retire from his role in October.
Laroche joined SPG in 2016 as controller and was promoted to vice president and controller before rising to the position of CFO. Before joining the company, he was a senior manager at PwC. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany.
In addition, RPM said it named Mark T. Rankin as vice president of global systems, effective July 22. He reports to Lonny R. DiRusso, RPM's vice president and chief information officer.
Rankin joined RPM's IT intern program over 18 years ago and has held various IT positions of increasing responsibility, including his most recent role. Prior to that, he was vice president of information technology at RPM's Specialty Products Group from 2018 to 2020. Rankin holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Cleveland State University.
