GARDEN GROVE, Calif.—R.D. Abbott Co. Inc. has added more than two decades of commercial experience in the chemical industry to its staff with the hiring of Humberto Ibanez.
Ibanez will serve as senior account manager at R.D. Abbott's facility in Guadalajara, Mexico. The hire was effective June 6.
"Humberto brings tremendous technical sales skills and know-how to our team," said Eddie Gonzales, business line manager for R.D. Abbott. "We are pleased to have him join us and look forward to the value he will provide to our customers as R.D. Abbott de Mexico adds Thermax to its growing portfolio of industry-leading elastomer products."
Specifically, Ibanez will be responsible for business relationships, sales growth and technical support in the Mexico region.
He previously sold Cancarb Ltd.'s Thermax medium thermal carbon blacks. On June 25, R.D. Abbott de Mexico became the exclusive distributor of Thermax products in Mexico.
Ibanez has helped bring to market specialties in silicone products, rubber processing aids, desiccants, antiadherents, functional mineral fillers, thermal and furnace carbon blacks, among many other industry-related products.
For 12 years he worked for Negociaciones Internacionales Lema, and has worked as a technician analyst and R&D technician for NCH.
R.D. Abbott is a materials science, engineering and distribution company that has worked in the rubber industry since 1948.
