Raumedic names Brian Hutchison as CEO for U.S. unit

MILLS RIVER, N.C.—Raumedic Inc., a processor of medical-grade thermoplastic polymers and silicones, has named Brian Hutchison as its next president and CEO, effective Feb. 8.

He succeeds Stefan Seuferling, who will continue as chairman of the Board of Directors at Raumedic Inc., and as CEO of parent company Raumedic A.G.

"We are really happy that we could attract an experienced and successful executive like Brian Hutchison to Raumedic," Seuferling said. "The U.S. market is filled with potential for Raumedic.

"We really believe that we will be able to continue expanding our business activities there now that we have brought Brian Hutchison on board."

Hutchison has three decades of experience in medical devices, biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry. He has served in executive positions with Stryker Corp., RTI Surgical and Catalyst OrthoScience.

Hutchison said he will look to "provide crucial momentum that would produce far-reaching strategies and long-term growth for Raumedic together with our customers, partners and employees."

Priority will be placed on pharmaceutical fluid handling, cell therapy and drug delivery, he said.

Total sales for Raumedic Group, which produces tubing, catheters and molded products, as well as precise pressure-measuring system, were $157.4 million in 2020.

Raumedic Group has five manufacturing plants between Germany and the U.S., with 1,000 employees worldwide.
