LOUDON, Tenn.—The Polyurethane Foam Association has new leadership entering 2024, as the organization recently selected a new president and officers.
The PFA also made additional selections to its Executive Committee.
"PFA is a vital organization in the flexible polyurethane foam industry," said incoming PFA President Philippe Knaub, an executive of FXI. "I look forward to working with my colleagues in the industry to further PFA's programs in advocacy and education."
Knaub succeeds Chip Holton of NCFI Polyurethanes, who served in the position since 2015.
He is senior vice president and chief technology officer of FXI, charged with supervising research and development projects and reporting to the company's CEO.
The slate of executive changes were approved by attendees at a general business meeting Nov. 2, 2023, in Toronto.
Other officer selections included:
- Rob Heller of Future Foam, first vice president;
- Cam McLaughlin of Elite Comfort Solutions, second vice president;
- Hamdy Khalil of Woodbridge Group, treasurer; and
- Bill Gollnitz, immediate past president.
Additional PFA Executive Committee members for 2024 include:
- Frank Donato of VPC;
- Karl Gust of BASF;
- Scott Skolnekovich of Covestro;
- Susan Kilpatrick of Evonik;
- Rob Einterz of Monument Chemical;
- Robert Smith of Wanhua; and
- Barry Gabelman of Chemfoam.
The PFA was founded in 1980 and provides educational services on environmental, health and safety issues, and technical information on the performance of flexible polyurethane foam in consumer and industrial products.
FPF is used in upholstered furniture and mattress products, along with automotive seating, carpet cushion, packaging and many other applications.
