SEOUL, South Korea—Nexen Tire Corp. has its next-gen leader.
The South Korean tire maker named John Bosco (Hyeon Suk) Kim as the company's new CEO. It was one of five executive appointments made Nov. 29. They're appointments that the company said will "further solidify its worldwide competitiveness" and allow it to "respond quickly to the rapidly changing market environment."
For that, Kim brings the right experience. He has been with the company since 1990 and has served in a number of leadership roles during his 30-plus years. He's led both sales and marketing operations in South Korea as well as the Asia-Pacific and European regions.
Since 2016, Kim has held key roles in the global sales division, where he contributed to Nexen Tire's global growth as he oversaw sales and marketing across Europe and helped to drive global revenue growth and brand recognition.
Most recently, Kim was head of the Global OE Sales Business Group, where he oversaw the OE supply and worked to expand premium OE fitments. It was a position he's held since 2021.
In addition to naming Kim CEO, Nexen Tire appointed:
- Dae Choong Kim as Global Seals Business Group leader
- Chuljun Kim as Global Production Business Group leader
- Jongyoung Kim as head of the Central Research Institute
- Bonhyong Goo as head of management admistration.
"As this leadership restructuring will provide Nexen Tire with an opportunity to take a significant leap forward," Travis Kang, Nexen Tire's Global CEO said in a statement. "We expect our new leaders, who possess seasoned expertise and insights from extensive field experience, to drive the company's sustainable growth and contribute to profit maximization."
