WASHINGTON—Alexis Garcin, chairman and president of Michelin North America Inc., has been named to the Board of Directors of the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association.
Garcin succeeds Scott Clark, who was named Michelin group executive vice president responsible for the company's global passenger car and light truck business, motorsports and experiences, the USTMA said in a June 21 press release.
"Alexis is a forward-looking leader with a distinguished career in global sales and marketing," Anne Forristall Luke, USTMA president and CEO, said in a statement. "His international perspective, extensive experience and deep understanding of our industry will be an asset to our organization's governance and business strategie. We look forward to working with Alexis and welcome him to USTMA's Board of Directors."
As the new chairman and president of Michelin North America, Garcin will coordinate all of the subsidiary's activities, which encompass 20,000 employees and more than $9 billion in sales, the USTMA said.
Garcin joined Michelin in 2002 as sales director of its car dealer channel in France. Most recently, he headed the company's global, long-distance transportation business line.
Before joining Michelin, Garcin was sales director for Western Europe for Bosch Group.
