SOUTHAMPTON, Pa.—Mary Marcus, who has been with NewAge Industries Inc. since 2008, will replace Ken Baker as CEO of the biopharma and industrial hose manufacturing firm.
"I enthusiastically support Mary's appointment to CEO," Baker said. "I have been impressed by her commitment and dedication to the company, its team members and to our many global partners."
Baker will remain as a member of the Board of Directors for the 100-percent employee-owned firm.
"Since her arrival in 2008, Mary has been a vital part of NewAge Industries," said Andreas Georghiou, chair of the NewAge Board of Directors. "In her most recent role as interim CEO and general manager, Mary has successfully led the organization while strategically positioning it as a global leader with tremendous growth opportunity within the industry."
Marcus was hired by NewAge 16 years ago in supply chain operations, and has held a number of different leadership roles "which have enabled the company to ... navigate the incredible growth and challenges that come with serving the biopharma industry," NewAge said in a news release on the promotion.
Among other projects, Marcus has overseen the development of single-use sterilization programs, the establishment of clean room production areas and the expansion of NewAge's global footprint with a new production site in Europe early in 2024.
"Ken has done an amazing job setting the company up for success and created such a strong foundation upon which to build," Marcus said. "I am honored and humbled to be able to lead the organization into the next chapter."
