PROVIDENCE, R.I.—John Roberts will take over as general manager in sales for Mahr Inc., bringing more than three decades of experience in industrial automation to the position.
The appointment was effective Feb. 13.
"John brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record," Mahr stated in a Feb. 13 release.
Mahr previously worked for B&R Industrial Automation, a subsidiary of the ABB Group.
At B&R, he was promoted to increasingly larger senior sales management roles, from managing director of growth markets to senior vice president of sales and, finally, to global product group manager for HMI.
At Mahr, Roberts will be responsible for the Canada, Mexico, Brazil and U.S. sales markets. He also will be responsible for Mahr Engineered Solutions, marketing, product management, applications engineering, service, customer resource center and the distribution teams.
Mahr is an international manufacturer of precision measuring components and equipment used in dimensional metrology, a complex measurement of length using distance, position, displacement and surface texture, among other parameters.

"His deep understanding of industrial control technology has been instrumental in enhancing product quality and performance, along with his commitment to driving growth and innovation in global markets."
Mahr added that Roberts is an advocate for digital transformation and is "passionate about delivering customer-centric solutions that optimize industrial processes."
Mahr has been in business in the mid-Atlantic area for more than 100 years, and today manufactures rotary stroke bearings and gear metering pumps, as well as meter mix dispensing technology.
