MORRISVILLE, Pa.—Gelest Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of silicone, organosilanes and specialty monomers, has made its first change in the top executive role since its founding in 1991.
Gelest founder, Barry Arkles, stepped down as CEO and was succeeded Jan.3 by Jonathan Goff, a 13-year veteran of the company who most recently served as chief technical officer.
Arkles began the company to develop and manufacture silicon and metal-organic-based chemicals. The longtime CEO has accepted the position of Distinguished Adjunct Professor at Temple University.
"I couldn't be more pleased to have Jonathan take over the reigns at Gelest," Arkles said. "His strong grasp of the technology and markets and a leadership style that is at once inclusive and directional gives all stakeholders assurance that the strong growth and innovation that characterizes Gelest will continue.
"Jonathan brings palpable excitement and creativity to Gelest in his new role."
