BURTON, Ohio—Hexpol Compounding Americas continues to round out its overall business structure, a "decentralized and highly coordinated" approach that began several years ago.

As such, North America's largest rubber and TPE compounder has named John Chimenti as director of the industrial segment and Sean Sullivan as director of the automotive segment.

Chimenti and Sullivan will report to Bruce Wynd, chief commercial officer.

"We are excited to have John and Sean join the commercial directors team," Wynd said. "Both bring transformational leadership to HCA. We are confident that both of their backgrounds and diverse market knowledge and experience will benefit HCA customers."

Chimenti comes to Hexpol from Synthomer in Cleveland, where he worked as global director of key accounts. He has experience in channel growth and new product development.

Sullivan previously worked at State Industrial Products in Roswell, Ga., where he served as executive vice president of U.S. sales. He has more than three decades of experience in the chemical product field.

The hires round out the leadership team for Hexpol Compounding Americas, as Chimenti and Sullivan join Brad Donat, director of specialty compounding—the third business segment for HCA.

"John and Sean, along with Brad, will continue to be supported by a highly skilled commercial and technical team," said Gary Moore, president and CEO of HCA. "We believe the addition of these two outstanding individuals will allow HCA to have clear visibility on the current and future needs of its customers."

Hexpol Compounding Americas is a division of the $3 billion Hexpol A.B. headquartered in Malmo, Sweden.

Hexpol is the largest custom rubber, TPE and specialty compounder in the world, according to the 2023 Rubber News 2023 custom compounder rankings.

The company offers solutions for an array of applications in multiple industries and markets.

Hexpol Compounding Americas several years ago undertook a major restructuring, transitioning to a market-centric tack by product and a regional philosophy by supply chain.

Within HCA, those markets include automotive at about 40 percent (weatherstripping, air and fluid management, and NVH); industrial at about 30 percent (wire and cable, architectural sealing and highway construction); and specialty compounds at about 30 percent (water management and oil and gas).

Hexpol Group has about 5,000 employees.

HCA, which comprises about 55 percent of overall group sales, maintains 16 business units, with three in Mexico and 13 in the U.S.
