AKRON—With one retirement and two promotions, Harwick Standard Distribution Corp., a supplier of rubber compounding materials and other goods and services to the industry, has seen some changes to its sales and technical team to start the new year.
Mark Guzzaldo, account executive, will retire March 18 after 14 years with Harwick Standard and more than three decades in the industry.
Guzzaldo has served as supplier director for the Chicago Rubber Group, and as a member of the Fort Wayne Rubber and Plastics Group, Michigan Rubber Group, Twin Cities Rubber Group, Wisconsin Rubber Group and Central Illinois Rubber Group.
"Harwick would like to thank Mark for his years of service and dedication," the company said in a news release..
The company looked from within its own walls to fill two other positions, as Chuck Bonawitz has been promoted to director of strategic marketing, and Ryan Lang will become technical manager.
Bonawitz began with Harwick Standard five years ago as an account executive, overseeing the PVC/plastics segment. He will pivot in his responsibility toward the supplier relations strategy and product management team, focusing on leveraging marketing data and improving the product management process.
Bonawitz also has worked for Dow and Rohm and Haas.
Lang has worked for Harwick Standard for four years as a technical specialist, and now will be responsible for sales team technical support, with additional responsibilities in "key" supplier and product lines.
Harwick Standard has warehouses in Akron and Los Angeles, with other strategically placed leased warehouse facilities, and has been in the rubber, thermoplastics and polymer industries for more than 85 years.
