WEST WARWICK, R.I.—Guill Tool and Engineering Co. is adding experience to its staff with the hiring of Nick Comeau and Brandon Ribeiro as design engineers.
Comeau and Ribeiro come to the machine shop from schools and businesses in the New England area.
"We are excited to have Nick and Brandon join the Guill family," said Chuck Paull, chief marketing officer at Guill Tool. "They are young professionals eager to learn all they can about the extrusion process to better serve our customers."
Comeau has worked part time as a senior machine shop manager. At Guill, he will be charged with new product design and job quotations, purchase orders and customer interactions.
He uses SolidWorks (computational fluid dynamics) and computer-aided engineering programs, database searches and proprietary design programs, among other tools.
"I'm looking forward to learning more about CFDs and how similarly we can replicate real world application within a simulation," Comeau said.
He also will perform process and product improvements and present at trade shows.
Ribeiro has worked as a metal fabricator, press brake operator, design engineer and automation engineer. At Guill he will be responsible for creating extrusion die assemblies.
Details for the assembly are acquired by the sales team. Once the assembly is complete, Ribeiro works as a liaison with the customer before sending the job for production.
Ribeiro said he appreciates "seeing the friendly faces at Guill that are always ready to lend a helping hand."
