COLOMBO, Sri Lanka—Global Rubber Industries (GRI) has hired tire industry veterans Giorgio Gramegna and Simon Michael as directors for Europe and Middle East/Africa and South America, respectively.

GRI said the hirings signal its "commitment to being close to and serving customers in those regions."

Gramegna has more than 20 years of experience in the tire industry, including at senior positions at Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. and Trelleborg Wheel Systems, GRI said. He will lead GRI's growth efforts in Europe where his "experience and expertise will be invaluable."

"I am excited to join GRI and help the company achieve its ambitious goals in Europe," Gramegna said. "I look forward to working with the team to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers and drive growth for GRI."
