CANTON, Ohio—TimkenSteel Corp. has expanded its board with the additions of two new independent directors.
The maker of carbon and alloy steel products said in a news release on Aug. 12, that the board has elected Ken Garcia, executive fellow of Q2 Software Inc., and Ellis Jones, vice president of global environmental, health, safety, sustainability and business continuity with The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., as directors.
They join eight directors currently serving on the TimkenSteel board.
Ron Rice, chair of the TimkenSteel board, said in a statement that Garcia and Jones are "proven leaders who possess broad and deep experience within their areas of expertise. Their varied experiences, which are rooted in optimizing organizational performance, complement TimkenSteel's strategic priorities and strengthen the board's shared knowledge in several key areas of emphasis."
Garcia's background is in business and product development, marketing, technology, legal, finance and M&A transactions. In his current role, he helps Q2 Software's board of directors and executive leadership team with long-term planning related to M&A, talent and product development.
Jones has experience in developing, deploying and executing strategies to improve and sustain business performance, TimkenSteel said in its release. Prior to serving in his current role, Jones served in various leadership positions at Goodyear, including senior director of global environmental, health, safety and sustainability; manufacturing director for race tire manufacturing; and finance director of its North American Tire division, overseeing manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain.
TimkenSteel has about 1,900 employees. It posted sales of $831 million in 2020.
