WEINHEIM, Germany—Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, a business unit of Freudenberg Group, has made major changes to its upper management team heading into 2025.
The global sealing firm will look to Matthias Sckuhr as CEO; Kerstin Borrs as chief financial officer; and Gary VanWambeke as chief technical officer.
Under the new structure, VanWambeke will take on tasks previously assigned to the chief operating officer.
All new posts took effect Jan. 1, according to Freudenberg Sealing.
Sckuhr previously served as CTO and chief operating officer, and succeeds Claus Mohlenkamp as CEO. Mohlenkamp now serves on Freudenberg Group's Management Board as deputy CEO.
Sckuhr has 28 years of leadership experience in the automotive and general sealing industries, beginning in 1997 at Freudenberg Research Services.
"Sckuhr has made a significant contribution to the development and implementation of sustainable processes and technologies within the company," Freudenberg Sealing said in a Jan. 14 release on the executive moves.
He is succeeded as CTO by VanWambeke, who previously worked as senior vice president of the Dynamic Sealings Division.
VanWambeke has been with Freudenberg since 1997, and has experience in the powertrain sector. In his new role he will lead technological development for Freudenberg Sealing.
Borrs was hired by Freudenberg Sealing in January 2024 as CFO. She will continue in this role, leading the financial and strategic direction of the company.
Borrs previously worked for Mars, Mondelez (formerly Kraft Foods) and REWE Zentral A.G.
"With these changes to the management team, we are ideally positioned to achieve our strategic goals, strengthen our innovative power and achieve sustainable growth even in a difficult economic environment," Sckuhr said.
Freudenberg Sealing Technologies in 2023 generated sales of around $2.7 billion and employed around 13,100 people.
