BEVERLY, Mass.— Ana Quesada has been named vice president and general manager of Freudenberg Medical's Silicone Business unit, stepping into the position on June 1.
Quesada succeeds Sherry Gray, who closed a 34-year with Freudenberg Group with her retirement.
"With Ana Quesada we found the perfect successor for the Beverly leadership position," Max Kley, CEO of Freudenberg Medical, said is a news release. "Freudenberg Medical is committed to investing in people and we offer outstanding career opportunities for all of our employees."
Gray was named vice president and general manager of Freudenberg Medical's Silicone Business unit in 2019, and in that position, facilitated moving the Gloucester, Mass., manufacturing operations to the Freudenberg Medical's newly built headquarters in Beverly.
Gray's career includes work in multiple industries, including medical, automotive and aerospace. She joined Freudenberg in 1993 as a regional HR/HSE Manager with Freudenberg-NOK in Bristol, N.H. In the 28 years that followed, she held a number of leadership positions, overseeing units in New Hampshire, Georgia, Illinois and Mexico.
Often, Freudenberg said in a statement, Gray was the first female to serve in the management and manufacturing leadership roles she held.
"Sherry Gray has been a true pioneer for women in manufacturing industries and she has paved the way for many female talents, who are following in her footsteps." Kley said.
The company, which noted Gray completed her Lean and Six Sigma Black Belts, was instrumental in building out and promoting lean systems within Freudenberg.
Quesada, who began her career with Freudenberg in 2012 as a quality engineer at Freudenberg Medical Costa Rica, has held a number of positions with the company. In 2018, she moved to the U.S., where she took over as quality manager for the Freudenberg Medical Gloucester site. A year later, she oversaw operations and supply chains.
