RIPLEY, Miss.—Elite Elastomers Inc., a custom mixer in the rubber industry, has hired Andy Claytor as its next vice president of sales.
Claytor began his position May 20, overseeing the sales, marketing and customer service departments. He will report to Murli Nathan, executive chairman of Elite Elastomers, and seek to forward the legacy begun by company founder Steve Glidewell.
"Andy's expertise in selling deeply technical, value-driven products and his strong relationships throughout the industry will be instrumental in growing our custom rubber mixing business," Nathan said. "We are thrilled to welcome Andy to our team as we add scale to our platform to take advantage of the exciting opportunities in the industry."
Claytor said he was drawn to Elite Elastomers for its strong platform of technical expertise and a customer-first approach to doing business.
"They are positioning themselves to grow rapidly over the next several years," he said. "I'm very excited to join the team at this formative stage to spearhead the growth of this business."
Claytor brings more than three decades of experience in rubber and plastics compounding, beginning his career with Burton Rubber in 1988. He has held executive roles at Preferred Rubber Compounding, Teknor Apex Co., Hexpol and Alphagary/MSC Inc., eventually heading up Hexpol's sales efforts in the Northeast U.S. as vice president of business development.
