WEINHEIM, Germany—Claus Moehlenkamp will take over as Freudenberg S.E. CEO and chair of the Management Board of Freudenberg & Co. K.G. on July 1. He succeeds the retiring Mohsen Sohi, who has held the position for about 12 years.
Moehlenkamp will join the board as deputy chairman Jan. 1 and will step into the vacated chairman role in July.
Coming into the new role, Moehlenkamp brings extensive experience, having held various positions during his 30-year tenure with the company. Freudenberg said in a news release that he has contributed to the success of the company, having guided the largest business group—Freudenberg Sealing Technologies—as CEO.
"Claus Moehlenkamp has been impressive due to his strategic vision and operational success. That makes him the ideal choice to lead Freudenberg into the future," Mathias Thielen, chairman of the board of partners, said in a statement.
Moehlenkamp joined Freudenberg Sealing and Vibration Control Technology in 1994 and was promoted to director of automotive sales Europe two years later. He held several other positions within the group until he was named CEO of Freudenberg Sealing and Vibration Control Technology in 2007.
When Freudenberg merged its European and American sealing technologies, Moehlenkamp was named CEO of the newly formed Freudenberg Sealing Technologies in 2011.
