WILMINGTON, Del.—Chemours Co. has appointed Edwin Sparks to lead its fluoroproducts business as president.
Sparks will hold this position in addition to his current responsibilities as president of Chemours' chemical solutions business. He replaces Paul Kirsch, who elected to leave the company. Chemours said the pair will work together throughout October to ensure a seamless transition.
Sparks began his career at DuPont and throughout his 25 years held positions of increasing responsibilities in sales, operations, technology, process development, corporate strategy and capital planning.
"Ed brings deep commercial and operating experience and is the right person to take over for Paul. I am confident Ed's leadership will enable the fluoroproducts business to achieve long-term, sustainable growth," Mark Newman, Chemours chief operating officer, said in a statement. "Paul was instrumental in completing the foundational transformation of the fluoroproducts business and developing the current business strategy. I wish Paul well in this next phase of his professional life."
