NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Bridgestone Americas Inc. has selected accomplished senior marketing executive Sara Correa to replace Philip Dobbs as chief marketing officer.
The post oversees the Marketing Center for Excellence at Bridgestone Americas, and as such Correa will lead all digital marketing efforts for the Bridgestone and Firestone brands; the company's sports and engagement platforms; corporate communications; research and insights; and training initiatives.
"Sara is a highly experienced marketing leader with a proven track record of delivering strategic marketing and communications programs in highly complex industries," said Paolo Ferrari, global solutions business officer at Bridgestone Corp., and CEO and president for Bridgestone Americas. "Her data-driven approach and collaborative leadership style make her the right person to take our Marketing COE to the next level as we continue to evolve our business to deliver safe, sustainable tire and mobility solutions."
Dobbs recently announced his retirement, with Correa officially taking the post July 26.
With extensive business-to-business marketing experience across a range of global markets, Correa most recently served as vice president and segment chief marketing officer for transportation solutions at TE Connectivity, a company that works in the sensors and connectors space for the transportation, medical technology, energy, and data communications industries.
She joined TE Connectivity in 2014 as director and global head of marketing, data communications. Prior to that, Correa worked for Thomson Reuters, Robson Forensic and the Federation of the American Societies for Experimental Biology. She is a graduate of the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University.
At Bridgestone, Correa will focus on the tire and solutions businesses in the U.S. and Canada.
