WILMINGTON, Del.—Chemours Co. has promoted Amber Wellman to chief sustainability officer.
Wellman succeeds Sheryl Telford, who retired at the end of March after 22 years with the company.
"Amber's strong passion for sustainability and stewardship, backed by her technical background and leadership skills, make her the ideal person to lead the next chapter of the company's end-to-end sustainability efforts," said Jonathan Lock, senior vice president and chief development officer. "Amber has been invaluable in driving progress toward our corporate responsibility commitment goals as an essential part of our business strategy and I am thrilled to welcome her to her new role."
Wellman, who started with Chemours in 2015 and maintains a background in analytical chemistry, will be charged with maintaining and developing strategic collaborations to advance sustainability efforts and advocate for science-based policies.
She has worked in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, and with Chemours has worked in manufacturing technology and research, labs and advanced performance materials.
