LEOMINSTER, Mass.—Andy Claytor will take over as global business manager TPE for polymer compound manufacturer Alphagary/MSC Inc., the company said Nov. 12.
With the recent acquisitions of Denver, Pa.-based Sylvin Technologies Inc. and Derbyshire, England-based Vinyl Compounds Ltd., Alphagary continues to look toward future growth and increased capacity. As such, Claytor brings more than 20 years of business development and executive sales experience to the company's expanding TPE division.
Claytor previously worked for seven years as vice president, business development for the north region of Hexpol Compounding in Burton, Ohio. He also served as regional sales director for Hexpol, and as director, key accounts and OEM development for Teknor Apex Co.
"I am delighted to be joining such a respected industry leader which has been on a significant upward trajectory over recent years," Claytor said. "I believe that the commercial acumen and relationship-building ability I can bring to the role can contribute to Alphagary's continued sales growth and profitability."
Alphagary said Claytor is expected to help grow the U.S. and United Kingdom customer base in 2021.
He will work with the Evoprene series of TPEs, designed for consumer goods, food contact, medical device, automotive and industrial parts; and the Garaflex series, designed for wire and cable applications.
"Andy joins us at an exciting time for the organization," said Daniel J. DeLisle, general manager at Alphagary. "The performance of Evoprene, one of our flagship brands, exceeded expectations in 2020, and with Andy at the helm we are confident of capitalizing on these market gains. We feel that he is the ideal operator to take our TPE business even further forward."
Alphagary is a producer of PVC, TPE, LSHF, olefin and a variety of blends and alloys as well as stabilizer systems for PVC compounds. The company, part of the Orbia group of companies, operates from five facilities, with three in the U.S. and two in the U.K.
