RAVENNA, Ohio—Ace Laboratories has appointed Mike McDonnell as its business development manager.
Most recently an account manager for elastomers at Louisville, Ky.-based Zeon Chemicals, McDonnell made the move to Ohio to start 2025. With over 20 years of experience in elastomers and plastics, founder and CEO Erick Sharp said that McDonnell is an "outstanding addition" to the managerial team at Ace.
"Mike truly reflects our core values," Sharp said. "His depth of experience and ability to build lasting relationships will be essential to support our continued growth and strengthen our partnerships worldwide."
McDonnell brings a relationship-focused approach to business development, company officials said, which has earned him status as a well known and highly respected voice in the rubber industry. The company also cited his experience in specialty polymers, custom mixing and laboratory services as reason for his hiring.
Company officials called 2024 a "milestone year" for Ace, having grown its global customer base by 20 percent and adding 7,500 square feet of laboratory space. McDonnell brings another steady hand to the relatively young firm, with Ace celebrating a decade in business this year.
"Mike's appointment highlights our ongoing focus on growth and innovation," Sharp said. "With continued investment in our facilities and team, we are ready for the next exciting chapter in our journey."
