GREENVILLE, S.C.—Michelin North America Inc. has garnered recognition as one of the best places to work for women in the transportation industry.
And that, the tire maker said, is no coincidence.
"Creating a great place to work has been a long-standing principle at Michelin," Felicia Sanders, chief human resources officer for Michelin North America Inc., said in a statement. "We recognize and celebrate every employee because they are the heart of this company, and this recognition highlights our commitment to support employees in reaching their full potential."
Michelin was named a Top Employer for Women by Redefining the Road, the official magazine of Women in Trucking. The honor, according to Brian Everett, group publisher and editorial director of Redefining the Road, went to those companies whose corporate cultures foster gender diversity; competitive compensation and benefits; flexible hours and work requirements; professional development opportunities; and career advancement opportunities.
