NEW DELHI—India's national polyol and diisocyanate producers and India's only listed flexible foam maker are closing facilities following a 21-day, government-ordered lockdown intended to protect Indian citizens from the coronavirus.
Bharuch-based Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals closed its TDI plants at Bharuch and Dahej, both in Gujarat. The company, which mainly manufactures fertilizer, also closed concentrated nitric acid and ammonium nitro-phosphate plants at Bharuch.
Chennai-based Manali closed its polyol plants on March 27, but noted that its facilities are "manned with minimum personnel for safety, security and related purposes." This follows Indian Government guidelines.
Foam maker Sheela Foam, which also trades as Sleepwell, initially pla to coincide with the government order.
