POOLE, England—DP Seals Ltd. is working in partnership with McLaren Applied Technology to produce rubber moldings and seals for hospital ventilators to be shipped throughout the United Kingdom as well as internationally.
"Working together we can help slow the spread of the virus and provide the much-needed technology to ease those already suffering," DP Seals said in a statement.
McLaren is one of a number of Formula 1 racing teams that are contributing their engineering capabilities to help meet critical demand for ventilators, particularly in the U.K.
DP Seals manufactures custom rubber moldings for equipment used by medical and emergency services. It also supplies the aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear, transportation and defense industries.
With more than 30 presses in operation, the company lists its capabilities as including: advanced FKM, FFKM, Viton and silicone rubber technologies; in-mold rubber-to-metal bonding; and cryogenic cleaning.
