MONROVIA, Calif.—China Manufacturers Alliance L.L.C. is keeping its seven North American warehouses open and operational to handle shipments of product from its factory in Thailand, as the world fights the spread of the coronavirus.
CMA, however, said it is joining with other companies and is directing all staff who are able to work from home.
The Monrovia-based tire import/distribution arm of China's Double Coin Holdings Ltd. said it has implemented safe practice measures—as directed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention—at each of its facilities.
Tim Phillips, CMA vice president of marketing and operations, extended the company's "heartfelt sympathies to all those who have been affected.
"We greatly appreciate our team and the loyalty of our customers," Philips said, "and we look forward to the end of this global crisis."
CMA recently opened warehouses in Rancho Cucamonga and Riverside, Calif., to boost capacity for above-average demand it is forecasting this year for Double Coin-branded truck/bus and OTR tires.
The addition of these facilities expanded the company's West Coast warehousing footprint to approximately 338,000 square feet and adds capacity for up to 225,000 units, CMA said.
