WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.—ASTM International has canceled all scheduled in-person business meetings through May in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The organization previously had canceled in-person meetings through April.
ASTM based its decision on several factors, including an ongoing review of information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization, as well as input from ASTM International members, according to a March 23 press release.
ASTM staff will contact committee leaders to plan alternatives for conducting committee business, the organization said. It will consider all relevant criteria to assess the status of meetings scheduled for June, it said.
The next meeting of ASTM Committee D11, Rubber and Rubber-Like Materials, is scheduled for June 29-July 1 in Boston. That event will include meetings of the new subcommittees for Recovered Carbon Black and Rubber Sustainability.
