COLOMBES, France — Specialty chemicals manufacturer Arkema S.A. is repurposing one its production lines in France to produce 20 tons of alcohol-based solution per week for use by French hospitals during the COVID-19 epidemic.
Arkema will use a pilot line at its Rhone Alpes Research Center near Lyon for the manufacture of the solution, the company said in a press release.
"The solution will be provided to the French health authorities, and will be earmarked, in particular, for the mass restocking of public hospitals," Arkema said.
