TRENTO, Italy—A partnership between two retreading technology companies has resulted in "50 tons of quality," according to a recent news release from Trento-based Tyre Retreading Machinery.
The Super Eagle OTR 63," to be shipped to partner Renova SAC's production plant in Lima, Peru, is being touted as the largest multi-tool machine in the world, combining peeling, buffing and grooving, according to TRM.
The Super Eagle recently passed acceptance tests by Renova staff at the TRM production site in Trento.
The 50-ton machine is a working gantry with two columns weighing 15 tons each, according to TRM. The machine is more than six meters high.
Renova, an industry leader in retreading the largest OTR tires, will pair this machine with a similar one at the company's Lima production site, in operation since 2008. , Renova said it retreads more than 300 tires months at its two factories in Peru and Chile for use in South American mines.
According to TRM, Renova is the first company in the world to retread size 53/80R63 (in 2006) and 59/80R63 (in 2010).
TRM specializes in the design and manufacture of advanced systems for retreading passenger, truck, OTR and aircraft tires.
